The 8th

Last week was a beautiful day so a friend and I went out to photograph the 8th. We started at a park near St. Lazare and worked our way back down past Madeline to Concord. After reaching Concord we worked our way back past St. Honore where we stumbled upon several 'open houses' at jewelry shops up and down the street. Every 10 mins or so a bell went off and Tango dancers came outside and danced. I was using some Ilford 400 and about halfway through the day the battery on my camera stopped working. We started looking for a place to buy some new ones but after playing around with the ones that I already had for a bit I got them working again and we continued on. On two of the photos you can see the battery problems. I should be heading out tomorrow or Thursday for my next shoot.

The 15th, 16th and a shoot in Denver

Once again I've fallen behind on my updates. Since the weather has started to get nicer I have ventured out more and more to different Arrondissements. My next trip was out to the 16th, walking around on a pretty nice day. It was sunny and not too cold. I stayed mostly near the river. I got some good shots including a lot of the Eiffel tower from across the river. The week after that I decided to keep with the them of the Eiffel tower and shoot the 15th. This time I also suck near the river but the day was not as sunny and nice. I was not as adventurous as to before to take pictures of the people who were out and about, but I feel I got some good photos still the same. Those were the last two that I was able to do before leaving for Denver. On my trip to Denver I decided to take my camera with me and try to do some shoots while I was there. I got a hold of model who had just gotten back to Denver from college and we decided to do a shoot together. We both agreed on what we wanted to try to do some photos of. The day went well and I got a lot of photos that I liked, however my camera did not want to focus on what I wanted it to. As I said I did however get some good ones but would have liked to have had more and I did figure some things out.

The 20th

A few weeks ago I tried to photograph the 20th. It was a bit of a cold day out so I knew that it wasn't going to be the funnest experience. I started of in the Chinese district and moved up to a park that had a really nice view of the Eiffel Tower.  From there I wondered around a bit and ended up at Pere Lachaise Cemetery. I got some nice photos before it started to snow and headed home. On my way back I noticed that I 'took' about 40 photos on a role that should have only had 36, I can usually get a few extra but not 40. I checked my role only to find out that it got jammed when I loaded it and none of the photos came out.
A week later I decided to redo my shoot and headed back out.  As this was my second time in the 20th I had some ideas of where I wanted to go. I took mostly the same path as I had the week before but made sure to save some film to take photos at the Pere Lachaise.
One more done only....16 to go...

The 12th

Today I added the 12th to my list. I had lunch with a friend down by the train station of Lyon in the 12th. Since I was already there I decided to take my photos in the 12th. My friend was late so I started taking some photos at the train station. After lunch I started my walk. There was a nice above ground park the lead away from the train station. I fallowed that park until it ended and found another park that I have never seen before. It turns out that the 12th was alot bigger than I expected and walked for about an hour before I had to turn around and start exploring. I found some nice places to take some photos (I will be exploring them later with a model or two). I then went to get a coffee at a cafe and to take photos of people that walk by. I ended up bumping into some old coworkers. There was nothing really to take any photos of so I moved on. I later found myself over by Bercy park to finish my role. I will be developing my role tomorrow.

Website Updates

I have decided to update my website (finnaly, I know). So far I have only updated the photos on the Digital page as well as updated my About page. On the About page I have added a link to my Facebook page (Kealan Wardle) and have added a twitter account as well @kealansphotos. I will be updating the other pages soon. This is exciting!

Finally another shoot!

It's been a while since I've done some photos but I finally got my act together and got back on to the saddle (that's and expression right?) Julia (a model that I have worked with before) wanted to update her portfolio and asked me to do some photos for it. We had talked before about doing something different, outdoors, maybe on some train tracks. The weather here has not been at its best so we ended up doing an indoor shoot. We were kind of rushed with it but I think we are both happy with what we got out of it. I'm looking forward to doing another shoot soon!
